I thought I would start a build thread even though our JLUR is still sitting in the shipping phase. We actually ordered a fully loaded Black JLU Rubicon. Once it arrives, it is going straight to Pristine Detail, located in St. Paul, MN. There the vehicle will be Avery vinyl wrapped to change the body color to purple.
Once it arrives at the dealership, I will take photos of the Black JLUR and post. Then, I will again take photos of the new Purple JLUR and post.
We are very excited to get this project started. Here is to a new build!!!
Well...the Jeep finally shipped. It was in "KZ" status forever. It shipped on Wednesday via rail and made it to Gibson, IN. Gibson is actually a county, not a city. But at any rate, it made it to Evansville, IN on Thursday. On Friday we checked and our JLUR was on the second train and had reached Bensenville, IL. This is located just outside of Chicago.
We did a bit of research on the rail lines and assumed it would take a much faster route then it has. On Saturday morning our JLUR was in Milwaukee, WI. n the afternoon, it was showing that the vehicle was located in Wabasha, MN, about 71 miles from us. So yeah, we are getting closer.
We talked with the dealership and they are saying that it should drop into the Twincities on Monday, April 2nd. Vehicles have been down to sit at the rail yards for a couple of days. We are going in on Tuesday to finish the paperwork.
We have asked the dealership to notify us when it arrives. We want to try to get photos of the vehicle on the transport truck. That probably won't happen, but it is worth a shot.
Once it arrives at the dealership, we will inspect and then have it shipped to Pristine Detail, located in St. Paul. There it will be wrapped in purple and make it's way back to the dealership. Once back at the dealership, we are adding 35" tires straight off the bat. We are going with Goodyear Duratrac 315/70r17 on the original wheels. These are fabulous tires. We are also adding the tailgate reinforcement system (3 parts).
Once we have this baby in our hands, we will be adding a Warn Zeon 10s winch, a winch/ grill guard and 7" Jeep lights to the guard. From there we will be adding 5" A-Pillar lights, a new stubby antenna, a CB/Ham radio and accessories that are required for that system.
Photos will follow as they become available. We are most excited about making out Black JLUR purple. It is going to look AWESOME!
