My tire carrier has pretty good powder coating. Only issues I’ve seen is rust started around the welds by the hinges. Must have been thin there. Also it is all rust inside where the bolts mount to the tailgate. It’s like they only powder coated the outside surfaces. I was thinking about repainting but that would mean taking it all the way back off.

Unfortunately, you can't really powder coat the inside of a part. There are things that can be done to help prevent rusting but not powder coat. Taking it off and spraying frame paint inside will help but it is a LOT of work.

Thats one thing I was concerned about, too. You could zinc plate it or do cathodic electrocoating before PC, that might work a while

The ARB Twin that I had under the hood of my JK has been collecting dust in my garage for nearly a year now. I just haven't seen a mounting solution for the JL that I like.

I've also had this Ridgid case kicking around for some time now.

Figured it might be a good portable mounting solution for the Twin. Didn't think to take a picture of the bottom, but I repurposed steel brackets from my JL rear bumper take-off to mount from the bottom.

Awesome. I like your quick disconnect better than mine. I put mine in a craftsmen box but with alligator clips. Lol

They came out great. I like the lead hose. Do you have it switched, or does it come on when you connect the alligator clamps?

Edit: I think I just spotted the switch connected to the sidewall of the case, in the lower portion of the picture.

Good eye! I think I’ll redo mine like yours. Thanks for the idea! It will also take up a little less space.

Looks good. Too bulky for me but I don’t have a JL so whatever works, works.

Yeah, it used to be mounted under the hood of my JKUR where yours is mounted in your JKU. Loved it there. But nowhere to put it under the JL Hood, don't want it hanging on the side of my cargo compartment and don't want it under my seat.

We'll give it a shot and see how it works out. At least it's got lots of room and I can store a bunch of stuff in it. I was able to get rid of my compressor accessory bag, so that's a bit of an equalizer.

Very true. Bummer there is no room on the JL.

There was some pics floating around of a guy that managed to stuff a twin in the engine bay under the brake booster. If I remember right it was fairly labor intensive getting it in there.

Forgot to post pictures from the 4th. Just a nice little picnic BBQ where we really like to spend our time, in the mountains. Between my daughter and I, neither one of us took pictures of our family... Just the Jeep (and the flower). Lol.

I like the box that you used. Can you slide it under your rear seat?

If I had a rear seat it wouldn’t fit. I yanked that thing out as soon as I got home.

Badass pics. I’ve said it before, that thing is a beast. I love the front grille pic.

You know we're only a little more than halfway through the year, but so far I've gotten my very first steel workbench, my first bench vice and now my first grease gun. I'm feeling pretty strong.

What 90° fitting are you running? I have tried a couple but they are all a pain in the butt to get on and off the zerk fittings. I got the same grease gun.
