might holdout.

MAybe that tail gate will hold out.........never know as it is designed for 35's after all. That would be a nice surprise even though i have a feeling that rear bumper is on the swap file so a tire carrier would be logical.........

The tailgate is designed to hold 85 lbs. in ADDITION to the factory spare. Our 37x13.50 Cooper STT Pro mounted on a KMC XD231 weighs about 50 lbs. more than the factory spare which means it's still 35 lbs. lighter than what the tailgate is designed to hold. I would be the first to say that carrying our 37 on the tailgate isn't our first option but rather, the only option we have at the moment. That being said and with all the steps I've taken to help mitigate jiggling and ledges from catching the spare, I actually have confidence it'll hold up over the long haul.

That’s an impressive amount of weight it will hold.

Tailgate Jacked up No More
It'd been so long since I ordered a new interior trim panel for our JL's tailgate that I almost forgot all about it. But, it finally did come in and here are a few shots of what it looked like before, during and after the new trim was installed.

Shot of JET Li sitting next to Pappy and getting ready to get fixed up.

New trim panel installed. Notice the mounting points for a Trail Rail or even trail table.

And just like that, our tailgate is whole again.

Oh and for those of you who are wanting to know what the part is if this ever happens to you, this is what you'll need.

Panel-Swing Gate Trim : 6BM40TX7AB

Should cost about $60
