Is there anything under the plastic that the mounting bolts are biting, or is the compressor is mounted/bolted to just the plastic tray? I think he is saying that being mounted to the plastic only with the vibrations with eventually split/crack the plastic tray.

It’s mounted in a plastic tray and the compressor gets hot as hell.

True and true. But. Heat rises and I plan on leaving the cover open. There is an air gap around the entire compressor. I don’t foresee any issues. If I see that it’s going to be a problem I’ll let you guys know and change plans.

As of now it is sitting on the 4 bolts on a silicone mat I had. So it’s not bolted down. It’s really sturdy in there. It’s definitely not going anywhere. It’s almost like Jeep made it for it. LOL. I’m using the bolts as legs just tall enough for a good air gap. Works great. Ran a couple tires down to 10 psi and back to 35. It got a little warm, but not anywhere close to as bad as it did under the hood of my JK.
