This was the response I received... I'm less than thrilled with how they replied.

Yeah, I have to admit that I'm pretty disappointed to see this. :(

Kinda weird to say that. And, all the more reason that I think it might be possible that things can maybe still change for us down the road. At least, if this is just a programming issue, I'd have to think it can be addressed with software... or, so I hope anyway.

I wouldn’t say this is a deal breaker for me however it was something I liked having in my LR3. That coupled with this being a new model year and the uncertainty of how this is being handled, it may be a contributing factor in my decision to wait a couple more months and order a 2019. I am currently waiting to get moved and settled prior to ordering so I have a few months anyways.

I would have expected this to simply be a software fix that would roll out at a later date and be just a minor inconvenience for current owners, but it seems like there is more involved based on some of the responses people have posted.

Would seem to be an extra hassle for FCA to have a software version only for the 2018 model year and simultaneously have to update/maintain a software version for 2019+. That would lead me to believe there is an additional hardware consideration involved.

I encourage everyone to reach out to Jeep and let them know your disappointment. I pushed a little more to see if there was any consolation offer that some others received. This was the reply...

Dear Ray,

I can certainly understand your frustration regarding this. I do hope
with the amount of comments we are receiving regarding the off-road
pages a different resolution can be found. At this time we are informing
customers the feature will not be available.

I apologize the information provided was correct at the time of
publication and subject to change.

We understand you have a choice in what vehicle you do choose to
purchase. We truly thank you for choosing Jeep.

I agree reach out in numbers but I'm sure by now the folks who can help resolve the issue are aware and working on it.

Some hope?

Two less than reliable data points:

1- Unconfirmed sources have reported that this decision has been reversed and that a software update will be coming sometime after all. The source claimed to be reliable but he wasn't allowed to give references.

2- My dealer called me on the phone yesterday and assured me that my JL would have the Off Road Pages with "99.9% certainty".

This is fairly encouraging. But it sure would be nice to hear something from FCA officially.

Well I can tell you for certainty that if jeep doesn’t know, your dealer doesn’t know.

Just curious as a new Jeep owner. I have these features on my instrument cluster , except for the sway bar and locker features as I have a unlimited sport s model . No off-road pages obviously cause I don’t have a rubi and only the 7” screen. Will I eventually lose these features in the cluster?

I also still have these in my cluster. I think the ones that us Rubicon users are losing is the actual pages on the uconnect system. Not sure how we can keep the console off-road info but not in the uconnect.

Got an interesting email. It basically said the OffRoad Pages will become some form of a premium pay subscription service??? And that if I sign up through Jeep assist it will probably come back to my 2018.

Not sure how valid.

That would be disappointing. Sounds like in-app content purchases, which I hate. Hope Jeep doesn’t go that way.

I just got this email from Jeep.

I wanted to follow up with you and make you aware of a recent official
statement released by us here at Jeep.

The all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler will offer Off-Road Pages as late
availability as originally stated at launch. Customers who purchased a
2018 Jeep Wrangler with the optional Off-Road Pages will receive the
feature through an over-the-air update at no cost and without a service
appointment. A notice will appear on the Uconnect display that will
advise owners when the download is available.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Ashlea

Interesting. Was this a random email received or had you inquired? I haven’t received anything yet from Jeep.

Great news - much better than the other possibilities and rumors being discussed.
