8.5 vs 9” rim

Any pro’s or cons to the 1/2” difference in these rim sizes? Max size tire I will run is a 37 in nitto or BFG. My thinking has always been the 8.5 will seat the bead better... i dont plan on ever running bead locks on this rig.

Really a small difference. I have 9” one of my JKs, and put 8.5” on my JL.
Both run 35x12.5 nitto ridge grapplers. The 8.5s give the wheel rim a slight more rash protection (1/4”) otherwise I haven’t noticed a difference. The backspace on the wheel is probably more important in terms of flexibility with future tire size and how it drives
