tail gate

Hi to everybody,

I'm a newbie to this forum. Just bought a new 2020 Sahara unlimited, It's been a while since I got a new jeep. My Sahara's tailgate has no key lock cylinder, just wanted to know if anybody out there has a Sahara who's tailgate is same as mine. I just noticed this a couple of days ago, when a friend of mine who has a 2019 Sahara unlimited, his Sahara's tailgate has a key lock cylinder. It's no biggie, but just want to know if some model's tailgate came with a key lock cylinder or not.:standing wave::standing wave:

Does yours have the button on the door handle for the keyless entry?

No it does not. Just key fob for keyless entry.

Welcome to JLWRANGLER. I have a sport and yes it has the key lock in the tailgate, but I don't have keyless entry . Heck I don't even have power locks.

Just an FYI, I reached out to JEEP and this is their reply:

Thank you for contacting FCA US LLC.

Our records indicate this vehicle was not equipped from the factory with a swing gate lock cylinder assembly; therefore, this vehicle was correctly equipped.

Anyway just want to know if anybody out there has any input on how to open the tail gate from the inside in case of key fob failure of latch failure/
