Just bought mine, has stock 17" X7.5 "wheels and LT255/75R17C M/T tires. They make a racket as most of my driving in on asphalt. with my stock rims can I go to a A/T 33" without a lift and how wide can I go with the stock rims? Just switched from harleys to Jeeps so all my questions will be newby type.

Welcome to the site, tcioch and congratulations on the new JL - very cool!

You can fit 33-inch tall tires comfortably and if your plan is to use the O.E. wheels, 285/70R-17 or 295/70R-17 are two popular selections.

Try searching the site a little to see what's been done - there's a lot of great information to be found here.

Is the 285 and 295 the height or width?

Here's a couple pictures of a 295/70R17 (left) vs 285/70R17 (right) for visual reference. I ran the 295s for awhile when I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to a 315. It's a good compromise IMO. Neither of these vehicles are a JL, but tires are those two sizes I mentioned.
