Can't be a true overlander if you don't look the part and so I'm happy to say, Cindy and I finally got around to installing the AmFib Snorkel that Rugged Ridge sent us! Of course, we had to put it on our Jeep JT Gladiator and I have to say... I kinda like it. If anything, I'm having a hard time deciding whether to keep the high mount setup or just run it as a low mount - which I should say looks really clean and very factory. I'll post pics of both setups so please let me know what you think. :yup:

I’ve been waiting for this. The low mount looks great! Did you make an install video?

It's not just a Jeep, it's an amusement park on wheels.

Low mount has a cleaner look but high mount stands out so that everyone knows you're a real overlander.

To my eye the low mount does not appear to be any higher than the factory intake position. So if the concern is water in the intake, does the low mount offer an improvement?

Yup, you can see it here:

Low mount, please! Looks awesome. If one needs a snorkel that’s it. I can’t think of needing one but that does look good.

It does have a clean factory look for sure. :yup:

I said lower over on WAL but the more I see it on the truck I think the high fits it better. Still really like it either way though

The high mount will give you that overlander look for sure :D

If you're fording deep water correctly, it will create a build up of water on the front of your Jeep and potentially to the point where water comes up and over your hood, even if the actual water level is significantly lower that in. The ensuing bow wake will cause the water to drop away and so locating the intake further back alone can be a significant help to keeping water out of it. At least, I think that's the idea anyway. My rigs all sit pretty tall and I've never felt the need for snorkel and would never want to cross rushing water deep enough to want one.

Very well made video you two!
I am not a fan of snorkel-looks, maybe anti-fan, but when I first saw this type of snorkel I liked it, I mean the low profile one. Really clean look, fits the JL/JT perfectly. And the technical fit seems to be really good. This oval shaped pipe between those huge hoses which goes from the front to the back isn't fixed, is it? I am thinking about rattling noises...
