    Jeep Recovery 101

We got to do an awesome recovery class this weekend thanks to JeepFam and Desert Wranglers. We got some good hands on experience using our winch rigging in different scenarios, straight pulls and using a snatch block. We were out in cottonwood pass. They had us get stuck in our jeep rig it up and pull our self out. I got a little spotting experience as well and the day couldn't have been more perfect. A nice overcast, a little rain, a little mud. Made getting stuck pretty easy. After we finished up we took the trail all the way through to goodsprings pioneer saloon. Born and raised here and its the first time I have been there. Didn't get to try the food it was so packed and we had go, smelled good though. We will be going back. I love having a jeep and seeing this whole other part of the world just miles from were I live.20191207_092748.jpegResized_20191207_121451.jpegVideoCapture_20191208-140616.jpegResized_20191207_155256.jpeg

Cool! I was wondering if you can use a snatch block with a kinetic rope. Is that what’s going on in pic #3?

What would be the purpose of using a kinetic rope on a snatch block?

Pic 3 looks like it's a winch rope, not a kinetic rope. Using a kinetic rope with a winch would be a long drawn out process

Pic 3 is a synthetic cable winch hooked through a snatch block and hooked to a strap. I can't remember if the strap was kinetic or not.
