I use it all the time in 2wd on backroads and trails where 4wd is not necessary. Honestly if/when mine fails in the JL I will gladly replace it with the manual disco & not even try to have the electric motor replaced.
Get the EVO air disconnect. Is the best of both. I love it on my JK8.

Those are pretty sweet too. If I ever put a compressor in the JL I would likely do that.

Can you get the sway bar button to work with the air disconnect version?

From what I understand the factory button is complex & is wired through the ECU so the simple answer is no.

The complex answer is I'm sure a tech proficient individual could hot wire something to remove the connection from the ECU and figure out a way to convert the switch from a momentary type to a latching type switch... I'm pretty confident in my abilities & the amount of work and potential for issues far outweigh the benefit of reusing the factory switch for me.

That’s a bummer. It would look clean without another button.

You can use the factory auxiliary switches if you have them.

You’d think that thing would be submersible since they advertise, at least on the tailgate, that the Jeep can drive in 30” of water. That damn thing is only like 12-15” off the ground. That is disappointing. Sorry for your troubles with Jeep.

If you sued, you'd probably win/settle. If it ever happens to me, I assure you Im not paying for a replacement.
