Honestly what is the purpose of the short antennae? Mine has maybe 11" or 13" and it's constantly whack whack whack whack against the body at high speed. Very annoying. I don't get it

I took my antenna off and put on a 50 cal in its place. Don’t listen to FM so antenna was just a waste.

I've caught factory antenna's on tree branches when wheeling, had them snap back and shatter windshield. Twice was enough for me.

I took mine off and put a shorty, don’t listen to FM or SXM. Having it whip around on the trails gets annoying. But that won’t be a problem for someone who goes wheeling where there’s little to no trees.

I cut down the factory one. Pulled the ball off and drilled it out and pressed it back on. Very sturdy and FREE!

Wow, appreciate all the quick responses. Looks is a valid reason!I'm gonna have to figure out a way to keep mine from flopping around... or go the bullet route

You should be able find a shorty that doesn’t flop around. I believe mine is 15” and it doesn’t move. Reception still is not near what you have with the stock antenna. The 50 cal is cool if it’s looks you’re after.
