    Terminal Ring Size

    Hello,

I have a quick question, what size terminal ring do I need to purchase to fit the battery ? I'm planning to connect 10 & 8 gauge wire.

    Thanks.

Terminal ring as in ... ? A local auto parts store should have the crimp fitting for the end of the wire if that's what you're talking about.

Pretty sure the yellow are the larger ones. When I do projects like this, if I don't have one in my garage, I just go to the auto parts store, look at the wire size in the store visually, and pick the terminal that I know will fit. But honestly, I have hundreds of these in my tool box in various sizes. But you also have to make sure the large ring has a big enough diameter for the battery terminal bolt to fit through.

Google brought this up pretty quickly: http://www.bestboatwire.com/marine-e...awg-tinned-lug

With heavier wire I would use a better quality connector than what’s pictured. Measure the bolt/stud size and get the appropriate size for the wire gauge.
