Im pretty sure you have to get the max towing package to get the m220 front and m210 rear conventional (open) differential axles. Im not sure if without max tow package the M186 might be up front.

All Gladiators run the 44 axles (210/220). The max tow gives wider axles with a lower gear ratio. But only the Rubicon has lockers.

Here’s a little fun fact from Jeep.

Supposedly the JT axle tubes are 50% stronger than the JL. Also at launch the limited slip is not available on the max tow package with wide axles. There is no timeline of when or if it will be an option.

Good to know. I prefer the ARB locker. But I haven't heard of trouble with the factory locker. Anyone else?

So 14% increase in strength of the axle tube thick of the JL's .282" the axle tube thickness (guestimate)would be .322". Approximately .040" thicker. Assuming the axle tube diameter is the same at 2.75".

That's really cool info. Thanks.

I'll feel a lot more confident now parking on the snow mounds at Home Depot for sure.

When we made the decision to order a JT, we went with Sport S and Max Tow package. Once ARB releases the 35 spline lockers and a rear axle kit becomes available for it, we will be upgrading both axles. We don’t anticipate rock crawling this build the way EVO does, but would like to be prepared in case we decided to do a little playing around.

35 spline seems to be the way to go.[emoji106]

So what you’re saying is when I have you install XD60’s on my JT build you can sell the stock axles?...

Well that’s what I’m hoping for anyways, lol. I think these axles will be easy sells to the sport and Sahara JL guys. Especially when ARB drops the 35 spline lockers and someone makes a 35 spline rear shaft set. RCV already makes the front axle set.
