Tire width question, probably been asked many times

Sooo.... 2018 JLUR... my wife's daily driver. Looking to go wider because... well because I like how it looks. Normally I'd change out wheel too, but I kinda like the stock Rubicon rims. My question, how wide a tire in the 33-34" range have you all successfully run on stock wheels?

For comparison, I'm running 38x15.5r15 on 12" wheels with 4" negative offset on my older Dodge truck. outside-to-outside I'm well over a foot wider than stock. I love the look and the added stability in turns. I'd love to do the same here but going to settle for just wider rubber if possible.

    I wouldn’t do wider than a 12.5.

We agree - 12.50 is going to be the max you can safely run.

285/75R-17 and 295/70R-17 are common options but the width will be under 12-inches.
