I was told that the stock JL wheels can’t mount the 13.5” tires safely.
Are you having any issues? Feel wobbly at speed?
Haven't had any issues so far. One tire leaked down a bit, and when it got about 10 psi lower than the rest it wobbled a little, but after it was aired up it was fine.
I drove it yesterday (rare, as it is the little woman's Jeep) and ran it up to 90 with no problem at all. Cruised at 75-80 and it was solid.
The tire companies won't mount them, as they are outside of "normal" guidelines. I had an independent shop mount them and am not worried.
I once ran 12.50 wide tires on 7" rims for nearly 50,000 miles without any problems.
Chalk your tires and set the pressure to what they need to run level and you will overcome the "problem" the big tire companies tell you about. When I do mine, I set the rear to what the chalk says, and set the front about 2 psi higher to counteract the edge wear from turning.
Just remember, if you do this, then load a ton of stuff in the Jeep, you need to add air to compensate.
