Unfortunately, not unheard-of. Should be covered under warranty. Requires full replacement rear glass when repaired under warranty. I believe you can fix it with an aftermarket kit if you'd like to.
I was cleaning our my interior the other day and noticed this thing dangling off the back glass. Does anyone know what to what material I need to use to reattach this thing? It kind of looks like it was soldered on, but I’m not for sure. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks all!

This happened in my jk. I bought a kit to repair it. Really easy and it worked. Screenshot_20190327-173520_Chrome.jpeg

Mine came off and the dealership got me a new rear window. It took about 2 months to come in but was covered under warranty.
