    Changing winch line

I want to swap my winch line from steel to synthetic will all I need is the new line and a hawse fairlead? I have a warn VR10 right now and since it is in my bumper i feel it will help protect the line.

That is what I did to my VR10

I also changed the anchor bolt. I can't remember for sure, but I think the one with the steel cable was too short.

I just took it in to the hardware store and found the right size with a rounded head. I also added some Gorilla tape over the connection to give a nice smooth place for the second layer of rope, since the anchor end is a bit rough.

I had plenty of room for the full 100 ft of new 3/8 rope.

You technically don't even need a new fairlead. If you're rollers have never been used, you can just use it. If it has, you can replace the rollers with new synth friendly ones.
