Roll the Jeep Over

Totally off topic, but I had an 89 Chevy truck that when it went to roll to 80,000 the odometer started backing up.

It went backwards to 70,000, then went forward again. Up to 79,999, then backwards again to 70,000. It went forward and back six times.

When it went the last time and rolled over to 80,000 and kept going, I knew it was time to sell it.

It’s fairly common for software to display “all nines” if the correct value is not available or out of range. It’s better to display all “*”s or “-“s or just blanks but sometimes that’s not possible. All nines is usually less confusing than zero or any other number.
