Valleys of the Moon

We had some free time this past Sunday so we headed out to Jacumba Ca and did the Valleys of the Moon trail. Trail is not to difficult but scenic it is. Eddie you may recognize some of the scenery from your Devils canyon trip a few years back as both trails are close to each other.

It’s a cool area but too overrun with border patrol anymore to make it worth the trip.

Yeah, it was pretty bad back in the day and can only imagine how much worse it must be now. I know they're just doing their job but it can be kind of a pain to deal with them.

GUYS not sure how long it’s been since you have been out this way but this part of the border fence is more virtual with sensors, cameras, and long range surveillance . There are still border patrol here but it’s no longer the pounce on you with an armada of vehicles. My club has adopted this trail in a partnership with the BLM. Up until a few years ago we were always stopped and questioned by the border patrol nowadays it’s very rare to even see them but you can see the crappy looking fake rocks that hide their cameras. I recommend a return trip to find out for yourselves
