A couple buddies and I got together last Friday afternoon and ran a couple hundred miles of the WABDR (short for Washington Backcountry Discovery Route). Weather was great, the views were epic, and overall it was just a great weekend away from the rat race. Here are a few pics, hope you enjoy!
Overview map - we went from Rimrock Lake north to Cashmere, WA:
My load out:
sorry the pic is rotated, not sure why it won't stay put???
My buddy Jim's red JLU with his home built trailer:
Heading up toward our first night's camp site. We setup camp at 6,200ft elevation:
My other buddy Marc showed up after dark in his blue TJ, but here is our motley crew rolling out Saturday morning:
Some great scenery and great weather to enjoy it all:
Some folks may be familiar with the Funny Rocks area, the JKX went through here a few years back:
Camp night two, North of Ellensburg, WA:
Stunning views from about 6,000ft looking West over Blewett Pass:
We topped off the trip with a frosty beverage at a local establishment, and sadly headed back home just in time to catch the harvest moon coming up:
