Amen, brother! I would buy such a vehicle in a heartbeat IF it had sufficient ground clearance, wheel travel and could accommodate big tires.

It can be done and it would outshine a solid axle configuration. It'd just cost a ton of money to do it as an aftermarket modification.

As an aftermarket mod it would be pretty outrageous. But for FCA do engineer it in the first place should be pretty straightforward. It's not like they've never done an independent suspension before. Tweaking it to have sufficient travel, etc, just doesn't sound that hard. I'm guessing they don't do it because some people would think it's "not a real Jeep". Of course, that's what they said about the JK...

But what do I know, I'm just a software guy :)
