    Freaks and Geeks

Anybody here nerd out? Our family gets sweaty to a little bit of everything, including light cosplay.

I was recently rooting through some digital media and came across a picture of my parents (in their mid 70s), my wife, my daughter and I when we all went to Disney dressed as Elvis a couple of years ago. It was pretty crazy… we were treated like complete rock stars. What was really funny, was that so many women wanted pictures with my father and I… but they would ask my mother, my wife and daughter to step aside. Lol. We've also done Santa pictures dressed as Elvis and as Jedi.

Anybody here into cosplay, cons, comics, collectables, games, etc? If so, post up your experiences and pictures.

As our family has a nice long weekend, we're going to spend our days doing jeep stuff. However, our nights will be reserved for gaming. We've been looking forward to breaking out Gloomhaven, and we'll finally get a chance to do it tonight. This game is a monster! It weighs in at over 25 lb. Anybody familiar with this game, or plan on gaming with something else this weekend?

Gloomhaven. This game is super dense but very, very good. Took a couple hours to lose the 1st of 95 scenarios. We'll try again tomorrow night.

My best friend is a huge KISS fan. We play in a band together and one practice session, many years ago, after probably too many beers, I made him the promise that if he ever had the nerve to dress up as Gene Simmons at a KISS concert, I would also go in costume.

Well, years later, he had his costume ready. And per bro-code, a promise is a promise...

We didn't see the opening act because we spent that whole time posing for hundreds of pictures for fans. He had the best time of his life. Other than the fact that it was the same day my dad passed away, I had a good time too.

Oh yeah, the KISS concert was amazing!

Getting in costume and going to the concert was a great distraction. It helped take away the initial shock before making the trip across the country the following day.

Well, I started this thread but haven't participated very much. I thought I'd share some pictures of the Smugglers Bounty boxes we receive. They are Star Wars collectible boxes put out bimonthly by Funko, and they definitely appeal to my inner geekdom. Here's one with a Sith theme.
