Bohemian Rhapsody
Although not a huge fan of Queen, I was obviously familiar with their work. I found the movie enjoyable, my wife found it more enjoyable. What made it pretty neat was that we were seated next to a fella in his 70's or so. He was a Queen super fan, and had followed them from the beginning. He was vocal throughout the whole movie cheering and singing along. We saw it at a Saturday matinee a couple of weeks after it had come out, and the theater was still full.

Overlord
Sill in the theatres. If you can catch it, it's a fun movie after a couple of beers. The aerial War scenes in the beginning are absolutely fantastic. It's a low-budget film, but still entertaining.

(Sorry about all the movie posters. I've got a bit of a movie poster addiction. I can't seem to get enough of them, and have collected way too many. Lol.)

The Christmas Chronicles (Netflix original)
Kurt Russell as the big man in red. It was an enjoyable watch with the family. Adds some good mythology to an old tale. Pairs well with Elf.

I don't know what the fuck happened, but the journey was pretty good.

Also, I still find a pretty weird to see Elvis's granddaughter in the nude. That chick gets naked for everything.

Instant Family
Definite crowd-pleaser. I like Wahlberg, I like Byrne and I enjoyed this movie. Glad my wife wasn't there or else we would have adopted a shitload of puppies.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Ugh... I don't even know where to begin. I did not like the first movie, however some of the marketing for this movie intrigued me. Boy was I suckered.

Summer of 84
There was some hype for this movie for a brief period of time. I found it to be a 1982 ABC After School Special at at best.

Green Book
Although the developing friendship between Dr. Don Shirley and Tony Lip is nice to watch, this movie ultimately misses the mark as the grit of their experience is a bit too glossy. So close to being a much better movie.

I do appreciate the tagline "Inspired by a true friendship".

Widows
This movie scored very well among critics. It is currently at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. I just don't see why. With exception of a very unique scene where the camera is mounted to the front of a car, the movie bored me to tears.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
(Netflix original)
Ethan Coen and Joel Coen brought us films the likes of No Country for Old Men, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Barton Fink, O Brother Where Art Thou, Raising Arizona, etc, etc, etc. This movie is not for everybody, but if you love sick, dark, dry humor, then this will be some of the best 133 minutes you can see on Netflix right now.

Ralph Breaks the Internet
I dunno... I enjoyed this movie more than some. If you have raised a daughter in the past two decades, then the Disney Princess scene will be worth the price of admission.

There are some prominent releases coming up in the next two weeks. Anybody going to hit the theaters? This is my itinerary at the local Cinemark. Definitely looking forward to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse most of all.

You Were Never Really Here
Another movie where I don't agree with the critical consensus. One of my buddies nearly left the theater... and this guy sees way more movies than I do. Really the only positive thing that I can say is Joaquin Phoenix really commits to his roles. I like the variety of posters better than the movie.
