Db, would you have gone with the diesel or are you happy with the gas so far?

The 3.6 in my JK was relatively bulletproof. That coupled with the fact that the 3.6 is used in virtually every Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep platform made me choose it again. If it wasn't reliable I figure that they wouldn't put it in everything they build. Parts are easy to come by. Bugs have been ironed out. Etc. I'm extremely happy with it, particularly with the 8-speed.

I probably should have taken a couple more photos of the grill during inatall. There are two aftermarket Mopar grills for the JL. One is for the sport models that do not have headlight bezel inserts, removable body color surrounds or the mesh inserts. This one is marketed for the Sahara and Rubicon models. The body colored surrounds from the stock grill snap onto the side and bottom edges of this grill. The pre-installed headlight bezels and mesh inserts are satin black rather than Sahara silver or Rubicon gray. Just like the stock Sahara / Rubicon grills, the bezels and the mesh pieces can be removed if desired, for painting Etc.

So I'm constantly plagued by the fob opening in my pocket and sticking me. Either that or it opens and gets stuck in my pocket. The size has never really bothered me, but it just doesn't want to stay closed.

When I saw these offered by Gibson Leatherworks I thought I'd give them a shot. Fit and finish is awesome. Black with red stitching matches my seats, while the tan just looks classic. The black one is carabiner style, while the tan has a belt clip. As I've got two fobs, I figured I'd just get one of each.

Installed the Mopar all weather floor mats. No real reason to detail the install as you can see excellent documentation here:

https://jlwrangler.com/showthread.php?646-VIDEO-JL-Journal-MOPAR-All-Weather-Floor-Mat-Installation

However, there has been a change to the floor mats since Eddie's video and write-up. A small foam rubber gasket has been added to the ports to help minimize intrusion of water or debris into the cabin.

Original design:

Current design:

Also when I installed mine, there was an audible click when I pushed them through the tub drain hole, compressing the foam gasket and securing them in place. Here's some pics, including Easter eggs.

Someone with photoshop skills should put the headlight bezel and area around honeycomb Mojito. I bet it would look good.

But these won’t work if you have a house key on your fob right?

I always managed to scratch the heck out of my JK door sills while wearing my hiking boots. Added the Mopar Black Door Sill Guards to my JL - p/n 82215394. Not really much to discuss regarding the install. Line them up as directed, peel the tape and stick them on.

Although I'd rather the fronts were only textured like the rear, I think it's neat that they say Wrangler rather than Jeep. Also note that the texture matches the honeycomb design of the grill inserts.

Installed the LOD JL Destroyer Shorty. Excellent write-up and video already posted here:

https://jlwrangler.com/showthread.p...Shorty-Front-Bumper-amp-WARN-Zeon-10s-Install

There were some wiring idiosyncrasies associated with the plastic bumper as opposed to the Mopar metal bumper as seen above. Although I did not have to cut or splice, I did have to reroute the main harness plug (as seen in the above video at 1:02) from the outside of the front passenger frame horn to the inside of the front passenger frame horn. The pictures of the frame horn show the harness already moved. I was able to pull the Christmas tree Fastener out with ease. The inside of the frame horn has a matching oblong hole that seems as if it was purposefully put there to reroute the harness.

Great looking Jeep...enjoying following your build:thumb:

Thank you. I have to say I really, really love working on and driving this Wrangler. Even more so than my JK, which was lifted and had 35s. I think part of it is that the JL is still relatively close to stock, but it feels more capable than my JK was. And that 8 speed... well I'm just blown away. I'm still waiting for the right lift, and then I will choose wheels and tires. The one thing I'm really missing right now though is my underhood ARB twin. It's sitting on my toolbox right now. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I have a couple of ideas from other threads.

Hmm.. that's a tough sell, I mean your Stingray Grill already looks Kick-Ass. Now if you had body colored flares instead of black, then maybe. I think the reason it works well on mine is that the green surrounds really pop off of the black. Either way your JL really is gorgeous.

Coming along nicely!

Thanks! As soon as the lift I'm waiting for comes to market, I'll call you for tires/wheels.
