So I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that this is the most useless mod that I've done to the Jeep:

The Mopar Storage Bin Liner.

Just in case you can't figure out how to install it, it came with these sweet directions:

20180807_140840-768x1024.jpg

Took out the beefy OE neoprene liner.
20180807_142008-1024x768.jpg

Inserted the new injection molded plastic bin liner.

I bought it because it was only 12 bucks on Amazon when I grabbed it August of 2018. Unfortunately it decreases the size of the storage space too much to fit the bottle jack and accessories that I like to store down there.

For nearly a year this thing has been kicking around our house with nothing to do.

So I'm on a mission for another AttaBoy... I'm going to make this thing useful, and get my 12 bucks out of it.

Turns out it's pretty good for the transport of bottled iced tea down to the basement refrigerator.

Damn... Apparently somebody misunderstood my quest for an AttaBoy. Still though, an AhoyBoy ain't too shabby.

I'll be sure to post up any further uses that I may find for the The Mopar Storage Bin Liner.

I got one of those liners too. Had to buy it to spend enough to get free shipping on an order. And yes it’s useless!

So I've never really liked the spline drive lug nuts that I've been using with my Machete wheels. Sooner or later the key is going to leave me stranded. Either I'm going to lose it, leave it at home after rotating tires or it's going to strip or break or something. Recently I was able to score a box of Gorilla lug nuts to replace my spline lug nuts.

14mm x 1.50 threads, 1.90" tall, 3/4" hex.

A deep well 3/4" socket is able to achieve excellent purchase on the new lug nuts while leaving ample space between the side of the socket and the wheel.

Here's the current condition of my spline drive key.

New lug nut vs old lug nut.

Here you can see one of the spline lug nuts still in place (1:00).
20190712_142354-1024x768.jpg

Although taller than the spline lug nuts, the new lug nuts are still shorter than the Machete hubcap.

Lug nuts installed and torqued.

I was able to find p/n 41148XLBC at a very reasonable price with a little searching online.

Looks good. I'll request that from Discount when we get tires/wheels for the JT or bring my own. When we got wheels for the JK, they had the splined nuts and I feel the same way about losing that key. I was helping a buddy on his Jeep just a couple of weeks ago and about 30 minutes after he left, he called me asking if his wheel key was on my garage floor. He said he remembered leaving it on his lug nuts while he was putting the rest of his tools away but doesn't remember putting it back in his last tool bag. Neither of us found it, it's probably on the side of the road somewhere.

You buy a box of 60? Care to sell the other unused half?

I always felt the same way about the spline nuts, while they do act as a wheel lock, I always feel like I'll miss place that key, with that said they are always what I seem to end up with lol

The shitty part about it being a lock is that you can go to any parts store and buy one and it works on every splined but out there. So it’s not really a lock.

That said, I’ve had no issues with mine and been running them for like 4 years.
