    Thanks for this great write up. Following your lead, I bought a system and mounted it on the driver's side so it would be easier to see. Once I figure out a way to keep it from working itself loose, I'll figure the best way to cut the tray.

    Used a stick on ram mount ball arm and attached it to the metal plate on the dash in front of the passenger side. Works great so far

    Yeah, I plan to use a dab of blue. It’s stay tight until you start messing with it a bunch.

    Just haven’t gotten around to doing it yet.

    I saw a thread here with another mount built for the JL dash. $85 though... that's a lot of chedda.
