Quick update drove the Jeep for the Dynamic and Steering Engineers last night and again this morning. With no issues and my Jeep has been returned to me. Also had a call from FCA wanting me to have a data logger installed at a dealership of my choice for a maximum of 24 months. Sign a waiver that I won't sell the Jeep before the logger is removed and also a confidentiality agreement. For all the trouble they send you $300 once installed and another $300 after it has been removed. One other thing required is once a month you have to fill out a survey and once completed your entered to win $250 Amazon gift card.

Warming up should definitely not be an issue. Aircraft use hydraulics extensively and they operate at temps well below zero with no issue. Gosh help us if we have to warm up the hydraulics before we can drive.

Had 2 phone calls today one from Jeep and the other GM from local dealership. Basically saying they want my jeep back and offering a repurchase or swap out. Really sux because im a week out from heading to moab now ill have to cancel our trip out west. feeling really bummed right now.

Bought a Rubicon last Saturday 6/2/18. Drove fine the 60 miles home however the next day while on the freeway the steering wheel would resist when trying to steer to the left. After I gave it a little force it would break loose but then almost over-steer. I though that it was just a new Jeep thing and that all of the parts were still getting broke in.

I am guessing that this is part of the recent recall to have my steering intermediate shaft inspected for a partial weld

From what I understand, this was a software problem where the 4 doors were programmed with 2 door steering and it would freak out and lock up. I haven't heard anything about this issue appearing again, and it seems the software flash to fix it worked. In regards to the original red Jeep in the video, FCA took it back from them for investigation and got them a new one.

Thanks everyone, my 2018 jl rubicon 4dr has been doing weird stuff lately, first the steering, sometimes whwn i will turn the wheel especially below 60 sometimes above bust most below, the freaking steering wheel tightens up and gets harder to turn, most of the time when it happens ive noticed is when it gets colder outside, first time was driving 12yr old to school going around a curve one morning about 40mph and probably 30 degrees out or so and i turned appropriately for the curve which was speed limit there,ans the steering for enuff time to cause me to go across the double yellow before i could pull it back safely i didnt wat to jerk on it because i didnt know if it would catch all of the sudden and then jerk us back over and flip us or take us over the mountain, and it does this more frequently now, i have no clue why, next is the stereo. My stereo just atarted ringing like i was getting a call,but nothing in vehicle phone wise and had to pull over and cut my jeep off to get it to stop, tried to answer,hang up,eveeything but nothing and no reason why it happened, it also freezes up on me and will just not do anything on the touch screen, i have a bunch of rust underneath that 2 mechanics said shouldnt be there at all and the paint has been bubbling and flakeing off!wtf! Can someone please help me? There are other things 2 and im a disabled combat vet, i dont make alot of money and traded my truck and a motorcycle to get the payment down to where i could afford the jeep ive always wanted and hoped to have but now im starting to feel like they should take it back as much that is going on with it and give me another one or something, who wants to drive there kids around in something they thought would be the best ride they have ever had let alone go out to the trails with them for fun because of the dangerous things its doing, way to expensive of a vehicle and i understand first year will have some problems but dang, they act like its nothing at the dealer. I dont even have 9000 miles on it yet!

How do you get into the program?

I want to get into the program can u send me some info,please, or tell me how,greatly appreciated because i dont know if its safe and when its gonna decide it wants to lock up,my kid is my jeep with me and that is why, there shouldnt be an issue like this and it not be immediately taken care of in some way and more, thank you much
