Front Bumper Well, after 3 weeks of waiting, the bumper is here. LOD had been pretty swamped with orders as I understand so pretty much build and ship. Definitely worth the wait as usual with their stuff. Looks great on the Jeep even if a bit naked without a winch yet. I had the plastic sport...

Flares I managed to snag a box of these really hard to get (at least at the moment) paintable Rubicon flare set. Turns out there are a ton on backorder just about everywhere and out of stock for another month or so, I was told. This was the last set out here and they were in Los Angles. With...

Bit of a pain... Took about an hour. The driver side couldn't have been easier. Passenger side sucked. You have to remove the air bag part way to pry open tabs on the top and bottom. I couldn't see how to take it apart until I cracked the old one from pulling on it. Looking at the new one I...

Brightening Up The Inside I wasn't really happy with the grey/silver dash inserts, especially since I initially test drove a Rubicon. I really liked the red ones that it had but they were not available on a sport. I found a Mopar parts outlet website about a week and a half ago that was selling...

Jeep OLD IRON - Classic Jeep Photo Thread

So much cool in this thread. My CJ-5 that I tinker with when I'm not focused on the JL. As funds replenish, it will see some more love.

That was faster than I expected. Got a call while I was at lunch today that my 4 wheels were in. Wasn't expecting them this quick so that was a surprise... a good one at that. Small hiccup, the wheel sensors are not working so we'll have to sort that out later. Other than that, all is good...

Busy Weekend It was a busy weekend for sure. Got the lift done and I can say it was probably the easiest lifts I have ever installed. That said, it still took a lot of extra time because I only had hand tools. I was wore out by the end of it, and a little sore too. It was still very much...

Arghhh. Stopped at Discount today and had a bit of an issue. Not with Discount, but their vender. Apparently, even though my sales guy called and verified stock and sent all the correct info, the vender now says wheels aren't available and are out of stock/backordered. I was going to get the...

Got em! Got a set already. They were the first purchase I made and I love them. Very, very well made,

Stuff Picked up the Mopar tailgate brace and tire carrier brackets to raise the spare up to fit a 35. Super easy install. Also, with the tires in at Discount and wheels hopefully tomorrow... I knew I need to be able to calibrate everything. Took Eddie's recommendation and picked up a JL Tazer...

One Step Closer You all know what this box is. Used a 15% coupon for up to $200.00 off any Mopar parts purchase... so $1295.00. I felt that was a pretty good bargain, and the Dealer here had like, 11 of them in stock. Really good instructions. Even if the install seems really easy, they're...

Bestop This is at the top of my list when it comes out this fall. Loved the fast back on my JK (and my original CJ). This is even nicer. The video shows that the Sunrider portion is better and the rear panels go on and off really easy. Bestop makes great stuff. May do the soft half doors...

LOD sliders The LOD sliders came today. Packaged very nicely and in perfect condition. Super easy install, less than an hour. There are still 3 holes I need to drill, but these things are very solid as is. For street use, you don't even need the extra holes. It will easily hold the weight of...

The UNWANTED Mod Less than 1500 miles and I already need a new windshield. Apparently, the extra lean on the windshield frame does not improve the aerodynamics enough to lessen rock chip incidents. My irritated and non-scientific opinion aside, the bigger hassle is none of the glass places...

Mopar lift JL JLU Jeep Wrangler

I think it looks great. Looking at that same lift and 35's which are really close in size. To me, wheels make the vehicle, it's a major part of the personality of the vehicle. That said, the current factory wheels are nice on yours.

2nd mod Thanks for the compliments everyone!! The 2nd mod and very first product is my repping decals. A small thing but getting many compliments when people see them. They really stand out against the Granite Crystal. If you haven't bought yours yet, get some. Small price, big impact. They are...

Emblems Got new Rubicon style emblems on today and replaced the chrome ones. Also debadged the decals from below them. Here is a before and after. I have Wrangler decals coming in medium grey with red trim and those are in the lettering style of the Rubicon. I will add my JL decals from Eddie...

First mod Took a couple of minutes to remove the little euro flaps between the flares and the bumper and the lower bumper skid. I think it looks a lot better and more like normal jeep styling. Best part was the cost... free.

Joining here now that I got a JL yesterday. Been a Wayalifer for a while and am there still too. The new rig is a Sport S. My wife and I took a overnight trip to Tucson from Phoenix and back, about 240 miles. I can say the JL is great and I am glad to be in it. I will likely do the Mopar 2 inch...
