Yes its better for emissions. That is by no means hot. JKs ran the same temps they just didn't have the gauges to see it. Almost all modern vehicles run that temp or even hotter.

There is wiring behind the panels. And you aren't gonna gain that much space. U must have had a newer JK. My JK sub sticks out of that side panel a good 8+"

A couple folks sell kits to use bolts after being trimmed. Can probably make something yourself but they are pretty cheap. Look at American Adventure Labs, they have spacers too 11618
