Hey all.
Joe here.
Got an orange 2 door Wrangler Sport back in May 2019 (Wife's dream vehicle). Hardtop, A/C, automatic, and most important, limited slip rear diff package. Put Smittybilt SRC side step bars on it. They bolt solid to the frame & never touch the pinch seam. Not that I could find a rock to slide over, but they are great urban body protection against parking lot door dings into the only vulnerable area of paint. Also nobody is constantly sliding off the edge of the seat to get in and out, step up and sit, stand up and step down to get out.
Been on a rock trail in Maine - Been on logging roads in the great North Woods - and a couple of BLIZZARDS.
IT'S BEEN AWESOME IN ALL CASES.
Maybe MOST important - IT'S GREAT ON THE ROAD, both local and highway traveling!
Never drove a JK - but the JL really surprised me.
Got 26.something MPG going up to the Canadian border recently . . . local, not nearly as good.
But it is a pleasure to drive on the highway!
Don't know that I feel the need for bigger tires, everything works so well as is.
Maybe some recovery boards for sand . . . chains would probably do more than slightly bigger tires in a blizzard.
Guess I'll play it by ear and see where time takes me.
But, having always been a motorhead - it's a whole new world of FUN!
