STOCK STEERING DAMPER TO FOX SHOX STEERING DAMPER ADVISE..

I wanted to ask, I have recently come to notice that my stock steering stabilizer is not working as it should be because of the odd bump wobbles, or the vehicle just going off course. I was thinking to upgrade the SS to the FOX SHOCK SS. Upon checking with the vehicle dealer in QATAR they were saying that if you upgrade the SS only the vehicle tends to pull either to the right to the left it is better to get it done with the FOX SHOCK LIFT KIT (I felt it was just a scheme for them to have their sales numbers go up from the parts dept). upon further research I read in a few forums that changing the SS does not change the geometry of the suspension to behave in an odd manner (as what the vehicle dealer mentioned).

I drive an absolutely stock JLU Sahara.

could anyone please advise how should I go about this matter.

With Regards,

Nix

I wouldn't waste your money on it. Steering dampner helps prevent steering wheel from jerking out of your hand when you hit things off roading. It doesn't prevent other symptoms caused by the characteristics of a solid axle front end. ANYTHING worn or loose on the front suspension exacerbates wobble, drift, etc. Makes sure you check all your front suspension components for wear and looseness.

thanks for the information. figured out what the issue was.. my tyres were worn out. strange thing though the wear was a camber wear pattern.

Also, for anyone else reading this, one member here (doubletapdaddy) had months worth of death wobble issues after putting the Fox stabilizer on. He did other mods at the same time so he didn't think the stabilizer was the issue. Death Wobble was so bad that he couldn't even drive his Jeep at all. After multiple re-torques, extreme diagnosis, swapping part after part with no change for the better, he put the factory steering stabilizer back on and had no issues again. I am not one to believe a steering stabilizer should ever have anything to do with death wobble but after seeing what this guy went through, I'm not sure what to say. Maybe he got a defective one or something like that but either way, once the Fox stabilizer went away, and the factory one was re-installed, his issue was fixed and he could actually drive his Jeep again.
