JLU Sport

Went to ask about 2 door Rubicon’s..came home with this.

Someone special ordered a JLU Sport and ended up not buying it. Ordered it with the HD rear Dana 44, manual transmission, soft top, HD electrical group..so aux switches/tow hitch/ 240 alternator.
Exactly how I would have ordered one.

The power of the 3.6 is nice. I had a 2010 2 door on 35’s with the 3.8 and the auto.
It was painfully slow.

Small lift and 35’s soon. Anyone lifted a manual sport and put 35’s on yet? I don’t plan to re gear until I buy a locker for the rear.

Cheers

Congrats! I’m sure someone has lifted a manual jlu but haven’t heard of any yet.

How does the shift/clutch action feel?

The clutch isn’t too stiff and the shifts feel very smooth. Much better than my buddies brand new manual tacoma. I have yet to stall it! The shifter doesn’t move at all while driving/Parked. Just sits very stoutly/ solid. No movement at all. Also the attention to detail they put on the shifter knob is amazing. I like it a lot.

That first gear ratio being 5.13 will hopefully help with 35’s until I re- gear.

The build sheet for transmission says it was built in Japan. So this new Aisin transmission should be an awesome unit.

I’m just happy to be back in a manual!
