Well guys the wife and i took the JL off roading for the first time and as first time off roading for us as well. Wasnt the smartest thing to do w/o a winch or any jeeping friends available to assist if we got in trouble. We were about 2 hrs from home and were actually the only ones out on the trails. This was also right after a huge storm we had the night before. I know these photos dont do it justice but there were 3 hills i wasnt sure i could even get up just with how thick(as in inches of mud) the mud was and how steep the 3 hills were. One had a rock off to the right so not only was i climbing up through the mub but i also had to climb this rock on my passenger side that ended up scrapping the hole length of the gas tank guard. I have video but cant get it uploaded. Its in mp4 and kept failing on upload. I had to back up and give it alittle gas to use the momentum to carry us over the rock and through all the mud which was around6-8 inches thick at a consistency of oatmeal. all in all we had a blast and i hope you guys enjoy the photos.

Ohhhhh yeah! Did you go up that insanely high hill?

No probably not we went on the easy trails just because we havent ever off roaded before and it was just the 2 of us. Also with the conditions of the trails atleast on the hills or out of sunlight were pretty muddy and not much traction. I think i would feel alot more comfortable if i had a winch becuase if we were to get stuck i could have just winched our way out. So i think playing it safe for our first outing was smart rather than getting in over our heads and havving an accident.

Awesome photos. Glad to see you getting out. I took some risks myself today and am glad to be back home, but looking back I wished another Jeep was present, could have been worse.

So cool that you got out and wheeled your Jeep! Can't say that I'm a big fan of mud but it does look like you had a great time. The only wheeling I've done in Indiana is out at Red Bird and boy, was that a mess :icon_crazy:

Good for you.
This is the first of many adventures that magical 4 door machine will take you on.
There is more to explore in Indiana if you willing to drive, and if you want to come north to MI you have nearly endless miles of trails to explore.
Happy Trails!

Well the wife an I are heading out west to ouray/Moab in may. But if we head up into Michigan maybe we can meet up and you can show us your neck of the woods.
