It's a funny thing how you never really know if you're new Jeep is gonna be a he or a she. In fact, for the longest time, Cindy and I were totally convinced that our brand new 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited would be a girl and so, those were the only kind of names we were thinking of. Thanks to many of you, we had seriously considered names such as J-Lo, Jill and of course my favorite, JL-Bait. But, after seeing our new JL in person and taking it for a spin for the very first time, there was no question in our minds that this Jeep was in fact, a HE. Light, agile and KICKASS in every way imaginable, it became clear that he deserved a name befitting of these qualities. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the newest member of the WAYALIFE family - JET Li!

Here are a few first shots after coming home.

You had to go with Almaty eye name didn’t you? 🤪

Looks awesome! Can’t wait to see it out on the trail! Congrats again!

Umm, if you meant to say "slanty eye" name, just look at the head lights. Do you not see them? :thumb: :cheesy:

Those 33s look so tiny, lol.

Seriously!! I feel like we need to fix this problem soon

Great name. The headlights are really nice. Be sure to let us know what you think about their performance.

Right off the bat, I can tell you that this thing performs WAY BETTER than our either of our JK's stock. I'll post up more specifics soon.

I had a ton of racist Asian jokes when i saw that you picked the name Jet Li, but I've been drinking and refrained from posting. I always regret that shit the next day.

Sad but so true. But then, Moby is old - more than 10 years old and a lot of hard miles.

As far as how it drives go, all I can say is that I LOVE the new 8-speed transmission. I really love the new tap shift too - more like what we had in our Renegade and way more intuitive than what the JK has. Makes me not miss a manual. Suspension feels way better too.

OK. Maybe a little.

First of all, big congrats, hope he delivers many happy safe and reliable miles for you. Having said that, am I the only one really disliking the look of body color tailgate hinges? I really prefer the JK black ones, for the look anyway. The body color seems to oddly make them look unfinished, to me anyway. However, I love everything else about it, and can't wait to get mine.....actually I have to, damn diesel release dates!

You know, it's funny but I'd have to agree with you on the hinges. I mean, they don't bother me too much but they do have an unfinished look to them kind of like what the JK ones look like without the black plastic covers on them.
