RANCHO JL Wrangler 2" Sport Lift Testing on the Deer Valley Trail

For the first time in maybe over a month, Cindy and I were actually home on a weekend and as luck would have it, we got a call from our good friend Adam asking if we wanted to do some wheeling. Of course, being that we just installed a brand new Rancho 2" Sport Lift on JET Li, our 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited, we were eager to get it out and test it on the trail and having a friend along would make it that much easier. Needless to say, the following pics are from the run we did up the Deer Valley Trail. I apologize in advance for not having as many pics as I'd prefer but we spent most of our time filming this trip. :)

Here are a few shots at the start of the trail, down in the Hermit Valley. As you can see, it's low range work right from the get go.

I think this just might be the very first time I've seen Adam with WORKING front and rear lockers - LOL!

Along the way, we came across a tree with the most alien looking fungus growing on it.

Bright yellow with red highlights, this fugus was rubbery to the touch and was oozing water or some kind of liquid.

Being in a 2-door and with the right breakover angles, Adam decided to take on this obstacle and almost had it.

Unfortunately, one of the smaller rocks at the base kicked out and wedged itself between the rear tire and frame. Fortunately, this gave him a chance to do a little winch testing.

Further along the trail, we came across an old CJ who was in a jam and so we got to do a little winch testing too.

A BIG THANKS needs to go out to Adam and Tina for getting Cindy and I out on the trail and to cover us as we tested out our new Rancho 2" Sport Lift. For those of you who are wondering, the kit performed great and I still can't believe that it only costs $640! As I had eluded to, we do have a video in the works and we do hope to get it out sooner than later. :)

I cant wait to see the video. That is a great price for that kit , any rubbing on the fenders while you were flexing?

Looks like a great trip. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you liked the pics, few as they may be

Yes, we did have minor rubbing. That being said, I do need to point out that we did install the 2" bump stop extensions which are 1/2" shorter than what we had before and a whole inch shorter than the extensions Rancho recommended we use.

Beautiful pics as usual, awesome wheeling. It's amazing what the JL seems to be able to do with just a minor lift huh? On a side note, am I the only one that finds it funny and "ironical" that Adam's plate is Overlandr? (Only the overland/snorkel thread people on wayalife get the reference):cheesy:

Lol most people probably don’t even pay attention. Hell even I don’t when I write it down.

I love that trail, I’m wondering if you’ve mastered time and space travel, seems like you’ve been in Eastern Nevada, SoCal and now eastern Sierra, with different lifts I might add

Jesus the wheeling out west is something else. One day, I'll be living out there, for now, an annual trip will have to keep me from going crazy.

LOL!! Unless you've been following that thread, yeah, I don't think most people would get it. Regarding the JL, yup, damn nice Job Jeep did with it. Takes next to nothing to get it wheeling great. :yup:

Awesome shots! Tina and I had a great time and look forward to the next trip!

I was really surprised with how that it did. I would recommend that to anyone after seeing it.

Thanks so much for the invite. Always nice to test out new stuff with a little support, just in case. We had a great time for sure and definitely look forward to doing it again soon. :yup:

:cheesy: It's been a crazy busy summer for us with more days out on the road than at home.

Great pics. Huge rocks. Nice to see Adam with a working winch. ;)

LOL!! A true rare sight indeed :D

We are lucky to have so much land to wheel on out here, or at least, for now anyway.
