KMC XD231 Beadlock question

I installed my XD231s. My question is should outer ring have any gaps on the ring to rim? I noticed as I was torquing it down it seemed very loose at 25lbs. What i read was the ring should have little to no gap between high points. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did that and there isn't any gap. Actually I read Eddie's write up just now and it says there should be little to no gap between high points. It's my first set and I just wanted to be sure I did it right. Btw, they look awesome.

did you get polished or black? I have a white JL and plan on going with the black ones. I see your localish to me, I am up the hill a bit.
