I just purchased a new JLU with the 7" screen and 9 speaker with the Alpine subwoofer. When listening to SXM, I have to set the bass setting at -4 or -5. If it's at neutral or higher, my eyeballs shake out of my head. When I switch to the radio or Apple car play I can have the bass all the way up and it sounds great. Is anyone having issues with the bass?

Welcome to the land of shitty audio compression. Radio and satellite signals are highly compressed, and often result in sloppy overly pronounced bass. Cd, iPhone, usb etc are uncompressed sources which result in much cleaner audio.

I mimic what NFRs2000NYC said about Satellite radio compression.
Also each source is tuned from the factory different, so unfortunately that's a factor as well.
